So, today I had plans to chill out, edit my fic in peace, fold some laundry, watch Once Upon a Time, go to the grocery store, pick up kids, chill some more (possibly run to store for shoes with DD1), cook green beans and make beef stroganoff.

Look what we woke up to this morning!  Chick count, according to dh at 6:45 this morning was "a bunch".  Clarification revealed that number to be 3, but fifteen minutes later, another one escaped.  It looks like at least three more will hatch (3 are cracked in a good way at any rate).  Today's crazy activity will be trying to assemble a brooding ( Read more... )

I showed my kids a couple snippets from Monty Python and the Holy Grail last week.  DD2 was a little bit terrified of the killer bunny, but she did watch it a second time.  Over the weekend, she was throwing one of her stuffed bunnies at one of our house guests saying it was a killer bunny.  LOL ( Read more... )

I was supposed to have a morning to myself, but after one look at DD1's eyes, I knew that was not to be.  I took her in and sure enough, it's pink eye:P  So, we went to the pharmacy and then to the dollar store.  Now I'm home.  In a messy house.  With no free time to myself.  On two nights of crappy sleep. *throws pity party for self*  And of ( Read more... )

This morning on the drive to preschool I was asking our neighbor (who is 4) and DD2 what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Neighbor kid went first: she wants to be a princess.  Ok, I thought.  That sounds like a fun thing to be when you grow up.  So, I ask DD2 next.  Her answer?  A doggie.  LOL!!!
